Honoring Ward Roney Jr.
Service was the thread that ran through every chapter of Ward William Roney Jr.’s life—service to his country, his neighbors, and the land he called home.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Ward served with distinction in the 31st Infantry Regiment, the “Polar Bears.” The camaraderie he forged there became a lifelong devotion to veterans and to the Monroe community he cherished. Returning home, Ward poured his energy into agriculture, leadership, and quiet acts of generosity.
From the fields of the Roney River Ranch to the founding of HerbCo International, from mentoring those in recovery to lending a hand wherever one was needed, Ward led with humor, humility, and a deeply rooted compassion.
His legacy endures in the members of Ward Roney Jr. VFW Post 7511, who honor his name and continue the spirit of service he embodied.
